WORK OF H’ART BENEFIT AUCTION

Work of H’Art, presented by Medyartiz, is a performance-auction
created by the community Garp Sessions has been expanding for 7 years, to support the continuity of the program. The event, held on September 6, 2025 at Zeytuna Cezayir, featured works donated by past participants Ayşe İdil İdil, Deniz Buga, Eva Vaslamatzi, Evy Jokhova, Felixe Kazi-Tani, Gülşah Mursaloğlu, Jamie Allen, Lara Ögel, Larissa Araz, and Ulufer Çelik.

Medyartiz, which has been performing interactive performances since 2011, consists of the duo Gizem Karakaş and Etem Şahin. The backbone of their practice is the concepts of friendship, inspiration, celebration, dedication, and gift economies. Adopting these concepts as a style and gesture, Medyartiz’s production process extends from dialogues between the duo to the artists they invite, the employees of the institutions they work with, and the audience during the performance. Their production stems from their interest in establishing relationships and communication with these diverse subjects.

In the auction-performance they conceived within this framework, the works offered for sale were presented by other participants from different periods, and the works were shared through these narratives as an attempt to create value for the works through these contexts.
